Express Removals is a national brand, not a single-town firm. We move people and businesses between every major city in Britain — and the towns and villages around them — working the motorway network to keep long-distance and short-notice moves efficient. Here’s how UK-wide coverage actually works.
One network, coast to coast
The trick to genuine national coverage isn’t pretending to have a depot on every high street — it’s knowing the roads and planning the load. Most long-distance UK moves live on the same handful of arteries: the M1 and M6 running the length of the country, the M25 around London, the M62 across the north, the M4 into Wales, the M5 to the South West. Plan around those and a move from Glasgow to Bristol or Kent to Newcastle stops being daunting and starts being a schedule.
That’s also what makes short-notice moves possible over distance. When we know the corridors and can see where a crew and vehicle already are, we can sometimes slot an urgent long-distance job in where a firm working one town couldn’t. It’s the national footprint that makes the express side work.
What travels well over distance
Long-distance moves reward good packing and the right load type. A full house usually goes as its own load; a smaller move — a flat, a few rooms, a single big item — often travels as a part-load, sharing a vehicle already heading that way, which can be both kinder on cost and quicker to arrange. Crates for the fragile things, blankets and straps for the furniture, and an inventory so nothing goes missing between two ends of the country.

The busiest patch — flats and family homes across the capital and the commuter belt, where access and parking planning matter as much as muscle. The M25 ties it all together and out to the ports.

Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester and the towns around them, sitting on the M1/M6/M42 spine — the natural crossroads for a long-distance move heading in any direction.

Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield and Newcastle, linked by the M62 across the Pennines and the M6 up the west. A lot of our longer moves run north–south along these.

Glasgow and Edinburgh up the M6/M74, Cardiff and South Wales along the M4. Further to travel, so more worth planning the load and the route properly — which is exactly what we do.
